Goulding sings that “We Can’t Move To This” – but I surely can!
My favorite part is the pause that occurs in the chorus:
We can’t move to this
we can’t even talk, boy
we don’t even– kiss
These lines actually derive from 112’s “It’s Over Now.” The pause and stress on kiss is croony by 112 in 2000, and is saturated girly pop glory. This is the strongest part of the song, and so it’s repeated over and over, perfect for jumping around your room, belting it out while letting your nail polish dry.
And just like that, the song is over and you press the back button to play it again.
